On paper, or at least a map, it looks so straightforward winding around the lake but there were lots of busy windy roads to get to Kirkland 


Cdn't find buddy Andy inside but there were lots of attractive objects to photograph inside, like a ceiling sculpture that looked like a bunch of blue records!


& impressive abstract paintings on the high wall:


and even a fanciful mural extending all over the children's area:


But so here I had to take a break, grab an ice cream and take in the view of {seemingly far off} Seattle:


as well as of close-ups of stones on the waterfront:

 SOOOOO,  two years after my last library bike ride visit, I finally commit to bicycling to the last and farthest of the King County Library System branches, Skykomish! Leaving home early on a Monday morning... & riding to Northgate for light rail ride to UDub stadium for 2 buses, first to Redmond where I got to revisit library with its oh-so-appropriate old bike race photos & children's mural over to Duvall with a friendly greeting from Ronni & staff & then off I go, first over scary shoulderless bridge and road to W. Snoqualmie Valley Road, a comparatively easy flat (though still mostly shoulderless) 10 mile rural ride into Monroe Not much going on here on a Monday night except for a brutal massage (neck is my body part that hurts the most from bike riding!), a middle eastern meal and lots of silly tv at highway 2 bordering hotel room -- & next to roaring railroad tracks too. to yet another hyphenated library -- and a handsome one to boot, both inside and out -- bravo Frederick Douglass and Sojourner Truth!: with multiple floors inside full of art & interest: Even more exciting, staff here actually found one of the SPL (5 year old?) passports so I can start using this instead of a xeroxed copy of the KCLS one!: to now get my passport stamped properly!: & also then had to get a pic of the newly restored "Soul Pole" on the corner!:
